On June 14, 2011 a class action lawsuit was filed against C.R. England Inc. and other defendants for allegedly fraudulently inducing the plaintiff into purchasing a business opportunity to drive a big rig truck. The class action complaint claims that C.R. England represents that "trucking driver students who complete the course at C.R. England Truck Driving School are guaranteed a job with C.R. England." The complaint alleges that since the scheme by C.R. England is nothing more than a classic bait-and-switch technique in which C.R. England induces the students to purchase the Driving School for several thousand dollars and instead of receiving the "guaranteed job," C.R. England told the students that they must purchase a driving opportunity for six months before they will be considered for employment. The Complaint alleges common law fraud, unjust enrichment and several statutory violations, including a violation of the Federal Telemarketing and Consumer Fraud and Abuse Prevention Act.

The Complaint was filed by Lagarias & Boulter LLP in the Northern District of California. The case caption and number is: Roberts v. C.R. England, Inc. 3:11-cv-02586-EDL.

Is this still a active class action suit? I am having the same problem with England! They leased me a truck and it wound up in the shop after 2 weeks, now they are refusing to pay the bill and I am out of buissness and the repair shop and England are coming after me!Help! They refused me a copy of the lease to have it looked over before I signed it and put me in a cubicle to sign all paperwork electronicly with no disclosure on anything!! The Wrongful Termination and Unfair Practice of Employment:
1. On 10/4/13, I was refused the accidents were my false. So I was disqualified was equal to fired and sent home.
2. The 3rd accident occurred at Mc Donald distribution center in City of Industry, Ca. It has a big tree and the Brunches were out to the street, not just little. It was big out to the public street from their property. It caused punch into my trailer I droved. I had taken the pictures. CR England forced me to admit the damage I caused. I refused because it was Mc Donald co. false to not trim the tree and let it went too big and tangle into the public street.
3. Since I did not sign, Carry (Safety manager) and another man (safety mgr.) called a 7' tall security guard with hold gun to force me out from the office. It was embarrassment and harassment to an employee. It looked like I was a criminal person.
4. The 4th accident was happened on 10/1/13. CR England and JC Penny both gave me the wrong address. CR England dispatcher gave me address is 4000 E. 6 Hwy, Spanish Fork city, UT. JC Penny security lady gave me address is 3650 Power House rd., Spanish Fork city, UT. Which one is true address. Both were wrong. I couldn't find either one of them. There was not anyone correct. The JC Penny address was giving by guard is the mailing address, not physical post the sign. Neither one is in the GPS.
I was lost into the resident which has very small street. So I was struck and couldn't get out. My bumper hit the retaining block wall fell on the ground. The police gave me a ticket costs over $1,500 or more. I asked a lawyer from insurance trucker to fight for me now. CR England said it was my false, then I was fired.
5. For the 1st and 2nd minor accident occurred because I was a driver#1 and there was a driver#2 sleeping. Both of us were inexperience much and still on phase2 training. It was suppose to have 1 phase2 driver goes with an experienced trainer. Then these accidents would not happened.
6. Withheld my money from paycheck $50 because I did not have a receipt which everyone in CR England knew the lumber fee is always $50 for Wal-Mart lumber fee. Otherwise they will not unload the products. I believed I faxed and sent in the receipt but CR England lost it. So they deducted from my paycheck. I argued with the lumber dept. mgr and director. Brad is mgr. Craig is director who hung me up during I was dispute it. He got mad and hung up. I had to fight back by asked Nikie (my module coordinator) to fight back. I got it but I had to work so hard to get my money back. It was illegal to deduct my money without my authorization.
7. I refused to stay and sleep in any room in CR England in Salt Lake city, UT because too crowded and unable to sleep well, then you have to drive in the next day. CR England refused to send me to the cheap hotel. So I had to sleep on the chair in TV room for at least 4 nights.
8. When I was a driver#1 and the driver#2 was abandoned the truck and driving. He (Jeff) was gone home without authorization. I was driving alone for 3 trips with paying $0.12 per mile instead $0.24 per mile because I had to perform for the driver#2 duties and function. It was unfair practice and pay. CR England should sent another driver#2 to replace Jeff.
9. CR England promised it was a good pay and promised at least 550 miles per day by average, but it wasn't.
10. I was terminated but sending me home without paying my transportation ticket from Salt Lake city, UT to San Bernardino, CA. I had no money for food and drink. I was starving on the bus and had to ask my son to pick me up at Grey Hound station at San Bernardino, CA.
11. I still did not have a chance to submit the trippak for the last trip on 10/2/13 to 10/3/13. I believe CR England will not pay me even though I drove and dropped the product at the final destination JC Penny site in Spanish Fork city, UT.

Had and really bad expierence with cr england, already had cdl, school was 10 day refresher, which lasted 7 days, spent the next 30000 miles making money for my trainers and the company, didn't make hardly any money myself. after training, i spent 3 weeks or so waiting for a company truck after which i was told it might be 6 to 12 weeks to get on a company truck of my own, at .12 cents a mile, really didn't want to do that after spending LMOST 16 WEEKS IN TRAINING, so I leased a truck, and the next 6 months were just hell, from june to september i made around 2000 dollars, was home 1 time in july for 3 days, by november, i was done.
Would talk to anyone now, to anyone that will listen to the story about how they go about having you drive there trucks, deliver their freight and not pay you for what you do. would be willing to turn over my financial records for last 6 months to show i'm not a crackpot who couldn't do the job and is just complaining... Before I left their Salt lake city terminal, i heard rumblings of a new scam they may starting to keep the frieght moving and the drivers not getting paid..

Thank you

John

I have similar stories about cre. Came to cre as a SR (Student Refresher -- already had my CDL). Did their training course, had 4 training trucks, 3 of my trainers quit they got so disgusted with cre's comp and poor treatment. I stayed on trainer's trucks as long as I could cuz I knew comp wouldn't be good. I was first seat, but my partner got fed-up and left after month and a half.
Loved my truck -- '13 Intl ProStar+ "Ol' Trusty III" no breakdowns, no flat tires, no accidents, no tickets, perfect fmsca psp, perfect state driving abstract, last moving violation in '99, 75 loads delivered safely, timely, no claims. My first week's check for effective 90 hrs work in a week from cre was $205.
Looking for work. Please call me.
Hard worker, safe, love trucks!

Thankyou

I want to be apart of this lawsuit. I have too many awful things that have happened to me because of CRE. they kept my 3000 dollars that they owed me, and even charged me another 2700 after returning my truck. they are crooks, how can you help me.

Work for CRE for three month until I was kicked out of truck because my temp license expired.I had been tell them since Sept 2012 that I had to go by my home area to pickup my hard copy, they kept telling me OK but never did and than I was kicked out of truck.I was lucky that they kicked me out in California ,all I had to due was call someone to pick me up. They also told me that because I was a Military vet that the school was free for me and all I had to do was give them a copy of my DD214 which I did. They also made us take upgrade classes in which they would not pay us and made us buy items off them when we started are Phase 2 training and we had no way around it you had to get them.Being left out of a truck for 30 days means you no longer work for them according to their policy since they kicked me out of truck they broken their contract with me ,but that's not the way they see it. They say that they will give you amount of miles to drive and usually falls short. They want to to drive and not care about the drivers as long as they are making money for them. Now I am stuck with a bill for the school even after they told me the school was free, they seem to hire about 150 more drivers every other week so if you fall though the hole in this company they don't care your just a number..They get paid about 9000.00 a head by some state or federal Goverment to pass all the drivers they can.

I went to CR England in 2009, after graduating from school you ride out in phase I with a driver for .12 com who runs you like a mule...most of there trainers are inexperienced. I was terminated by CR England because a trainer had called in on me for an incident I feel would have never happened if she didn't come out of sleeper yelling and getting in way of my mirror. They made me take safety test at there Ontario, CA facility in which they took me on this path that had a turn so sharp you couldn't help but graze a piece of the curb. When test was over they lied and said I ran over the curb and ran a red light as wel as not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign. I would have noticed all these things but once they pit it on paper it's your word against there's.

i too was scammed by this company, after i completed phase 2 training my biggest check for 1 week was $90..after i signed on with my buddy who leased a truck through them i had 3 weeks of $0 paychecks because everything we made went towards the truck lease and fuel and other expenses my co driver was asked to signup for through england..needless to say after 3 weeks of no pay i had to quit because i was unable to pay child support. they kept making us swap loads on a constant basis and never got the promised miles we were told we would get..

Let me start out by saying a company as cr england sickens me when my kids dad died in a fatal truck accident on july 9th 2011 in green river wyoming. Cr england drives their drivers to death, and they ride their books. That day cr england had 8 truck accidents and danny gates was the one fatality..It sickens me that to this day my kids and mother in-law still recieves phone calls asking where is danny his truck is loaded and ready. something needs to give, this company is not legit.
